Lenora Abene (November 11, 1924 – November 1, 2015)
Lenora Abene (nee De Nicola), 90, of Chester, NJ passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015. Lenora was born on November 11, 1924 in Montclair, NJ and grew up in Verona.
She was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served from 1951 to 1952.
Lenora was a retired secretary for Drew Chemical in Boonton, NJ. She was an active St. Lawrence Church Parishioner and a member of their Rosary Society.
Lenora was survived by her daughters Catherine Healy and husband James and Mary Nowicki and husband Eugene; and her 4 grandchildren Stephanie and James Healy and Christina and Eugene Nowicki. She was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur in 2009.
A funeral mass was held on November 4 at St. Lawrence Church in Chester, NJ. She was interred Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
Lenora Abene, Slattery MCL member, died on 11/01/2015. She was the wife of Arthur Abene, who was also a Slattery Detachment member.
