Robert J Cuozzo (1931 – Apr 8, 2021)

Robert J. Cuozzo passed away at his home in Mt. Arlington, NJ on April 8, 2021 at the age of 89.  He was born and raised in Orange, NJ. Bob lived in Caldwell and went to high school in Glen Ridge.  He lived most of his life and raised his family in Boonton Township. In 2008 he moved to Mt. Arlington and also spent time at his homes in Florida—first in Hallandale Beach and then in Vero Beach.

Bob made many long-lasting friendships wherever he lived and traveled.

Bob completed his undergraduate studies at Seton Hall University and earned his PhD from New York University.  He began his career as an organic chemist at Amerada Hess Corporation in New York and also worked at Ciba-Geigy before launching his own successful company Chemisphere International.  He retired in 2010.

 Bob served in the US Marine Corp from 1954 until 1957 at Camp Pendleton and at Yokosuka, Japan.  He was a Captain at the time of his discharge.

Bob was a family man and was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.  In his spare time, he loved to play golf at Rockaway River Country Club where he was a member and to fish and boat on his Grady White in Florida.

Bob was survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann Marie (Duddy) Cuozzo of Mt. Arlington, NJ (she died in July 2023) and by his loving children Robert and his wife Debbie Cuozzo of Boonton Township, NJ; Jill and her husband Edward Fischer of Hoboken, NJ; John and his wife Paulina Cuozzo of Franklin, NJ; and Kevin and his wife Rebecca Cuozzo of Powell, OH. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Corinne, Ryan, Evan, Meghan, John Robert, Robert Warren and Maria.

Bob was very fond of his extended family especially the Leonard and Cuozzo-family cousins and their extended families.
