Stanley J. Godlewski (Aug 26,1946- Jun 13, 2018)
Stanley J. Godlewski, Jr., of Florham Park, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2018 at home surrounded by his children. He was 71. He lived a life of service to his country and community along with being a devoted father and grandfather and is deeply missed by all who knew him.
Stanley was born in Bloomfield on August 26, 1946 to the late Stanley and Catherine Godlewski. He was raised in Bloomfield and shortly after graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Stanley honorably served two tours in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969 as a machine gunner, receiving the Presidential Unit Citation for acts of heroism during combat.
Stanley was a long time Madison resident before moving to Florham Park 15 years prior to his death with his late wife, Patricia Godlewski (nee Underwood).
Stanley was a career firefighter with the Borough of Madison for many years before his recent retirement. Stanley had a love of carpentry and building. He thoroughly enjoyed handling projects and building additions for his good friends on the fire and police departments. In his spare time he was a model railroad enthusiast. Stanley had an eye for detail and devoted two rooms of his basement to his model railroading. He appreciated the joy others got by seeing his detailed work.
Stanley was predeceased by his adoring wife, Patricia Godlewski, who shared his love for all things Disney. He was survived by his devoted daughter, Pamela Godlewski; his son, David Godlewski and his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Sharon Muse and her husband, David; his step-son, Scott Seibel and his wife, Jennifer; his step-daughter, Trish DeVore and her husband, Jim. Stanley leaves behind twelve energetic grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Stanley is fondly remembered by his former wife and high school sweetheart, Renee Godlewski. He was also survived by his many good friends from the Madison Fire and Police Departments.

Stanley J. Godlewski died on June 13, 2018.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated at Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Entombment with military honors was at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
