The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be open to the public May 22 until Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25th at 12pm.
SAT. 05/23/26. 7 – 11AM FLAG PLANTING: Meet at the Whippany Post 155 American Legion Hall between 7:00 and 8 AM for coffee and distribution of flags before leaving to go to the GATES OF HEAVEN CEMETERY (. The VFW and MCL are assigned to an area located on the right south side of Gates of Heaven. Boy Scouts will cover a different area.
After the plantings, there is a visit to the graves of Chris Cosgrove and Robert Slattery. After this, return to the Legion Hall or go to the Rose Outing at Uncle Giuseppe’s

MON. 5/25/2026: MEMORIAL DAY PARADE: Start at 7:00 AM at the Hanover Township Community/Recreation Center next to the Town Hall with breakfast, then we move to the Memorials at about 8 AM and finally to the high school. Parade starts at 9:30 AM.

The New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs invites you to a D-Day Recognition Ceremony on June 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Jersey World War II Memorial in Trenton, NJ.
As we commemorate the anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy, we will gather in solemn remembrance to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men who answered the call on June 6, 1944. We welcome Veterans, families, and members of the community to join us as we reflect on this pivotal moment in history and reaffirm our commitment to preserving the legacy of the Greatest Generation.
