Lance Corporal Robert J. Slattery Scholarship
Scholarships are available to selected qualifying high school seniors and ongoing students in higher education studies at a college, university, or trade school.
Eligibility is limited to members, spouses of members, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of a Marine Corps League Slattery Detachment member in good standing.
An eligible student may apply each year during which the qualifications are met.
Up to 5 scholarships ($500 each) are awarded in each of the 2 categories annually.
To qualify for consideration, the scholarship committee reviews the complete packet of information submitted by the deadline for applications in each category. The packet includes:
- The completed and signed Application Form
- Most recent school transcripts
- A list of extracurricular activities noting any leadership positions, community involvement, work experience, and volunteer experience (this may be in the form of a CV or resume)
- A minimum of 1 but no more than 3 letters of recommendation written by non-family members addressing how the applicant lives up to the Marine Corps Core Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment
- Email to the Scholarship Committee at mclslatterydet.scholarship@gmail.com, send to the address on the application form, or complete everything online on our website under the CONTACT BUTTON.
The Application is available on this website for downloading or completing it there electronically.

Click on the drop-down for “Scholarship Forms.”

- Download the appropriate Scholarship Application for which you are applying. You can then complete it, scan in your documents and submit it or send it by mail or email.
- Complete the Scholarship Form on the website under the CONTACT button and submit it there.
